Upcoming: Free Movie Wednesdays

I came across this  great deal while buying tickets for Pirates.  FREE MOVIES!!!! Yup, Free Movie Wednesdays at The Bridge: Cinema De Lux located at the Howard Huges Center just off of the 405 freeway.  They actually call it "Book Worm Wednesdays."

The catch: your kids will have to turn in a book report.  The cool thing is it's really a short form basically proving that your kid read a book.  Don't worry, it's not like they're asking for a thesis.  Plus, children under six AND parents who come in with the "participant" also get in free!!!

What could be better?  Think about it, an air conditioned haven for at least 2 hours.  Plus, it's a good excuse to drag them to the library on an other day (yet another air conditioned escape). 

WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!!!! THE MOVIES CHANGE EVERY WEDNESDAY!!! and (yes, there's an and)...IT LASTS ALL SUMMER LONG!!! Yippee!!!

Pirates Rule!

Who cares if the movie got bad reviews.  What's really important is that Sarah and I got to go watch a movie together.  We ate popcorn (carbs), Recess Pieces (protein), and Slurpees (fruit).  Nothing like a well balanced dinner.  Best of all we didn't have to share it with any slimy little hands.  We actually got the popcorn while it was still warm, not just the lonely kernels the kids usually leave behind.

Just as wonderful was Sarah describing Owen's reaction when he overheard she was "going to see pirates".  She, of course,  had to clarify that she was going to see a movie called pirates and was not actually going see any real pirates.

As much as I love my kids, it sure is nice to get away from them every now and then. 

As for the movie itself, I really enjoyed it.  I won't be a spoiler and tell too much.  I'll just say that if you liked the first one, you'll probably enjoy this one just as much.  Plus, you'll look forward to the next one.
